If you’re looking for information about an Old Line Life Insurance policy, contact AIG customer service at 877-244-0304.
When you call AIG, 99% of the time the customer service person won’t know who Old Line Life Insurance is.
You need to tell them: “American General acquired Old Line Life in 2003 which is now AIG life insurance. Please put me in touch with someone who can look up my policy”. If no one can help, ask to speak with a supervisor.
And if you had success and have any tips, please share with us so we can help others find more information on their life insurance policies.
But PLEASE, do not call Rootfin or fill out a contact form if you’re trying to find information on an old policy. We don’t have access to this data.
Old Line Life Insurance was founded in 1910. In March of 2003, they merged with American General who is now AIG Life Insurance.
This article was written because we’ve come across several consumers who found an Old Line Life Insurance policy in a file or desk drawer while cleaning out a deceased family members house and wondering if they can make a claim.
You’ll have to call AIG and find out if the policy was still in force at the time of death. The policy could have been paid-up already if it was a whole life insurance policy. If it was a term life insurance policy, check the bank statements to see any withdrawals of premium from Old Line Life, American General or AIG.
That’s the best advice we have if you’re trying to find information on an Old Line Life Insurance Policy.
Old Line Life Insurance History in Pictures
Old Line Life has quite the history. We scoured the net to find any old photos or information to remember Old Line Life.
Here’s what we found:
A 1913 Annual Statement showing $1,651,500 of life insurance in force. In today’s dollars, that’s $43 MILLION in their 3rd year of business. See the image 2 down from here for their growth over the next 18 years.
A 1926 Old Line Life Insurance Company Celluloid Pocket Calendar
A 1931 Annual Statement (during the Great Depression) that showed $94,646,331 of life insurance in force. In today’s dollars, that’s $1.3 BILLION!
What about a not very politically correct Old Line Life Insurance coin with a swastika (they probably regretted this one!).
The coin on the right says “Membership Emblem of the Don’t Worry Club…Good Luck”
An old 1959 Stock Certificate:
An old “Book Bank”. A piggy bank that says “Time Flies… Prepare For To-Morrow”. “Save A Coin Each Day Keep The Calendar Up-To-Date”.
Here’s an Old Line Life Insurance Porcelain Sign.
Old Line Life was still going strong in the 1990’s. How about a commercial from the 1990’s where Old Line Life was advertising as an insert in cable bills:
Old Line Life Insurance certainly has a deep history in the heart of America.
These days the life insurance industry has morphed into working with independent life insurance agents as opposed to the old school way of direct marketing that Old Line Life Insurance used to distribute their life insurance products.
That’s probably why no one can find the agent on their policy – most policies seem to have been sold direct from advertisements.
With that said, if you’re in the market to shop your life insurance – please read below about using an independent life insurance agent to purchase your life insurance.
Working With An Independent Insurance Agent
You have several choices you can choose from and thousands of different companies on the market. An independent agent or agency can compare all of them.
Do you want access to the best highly rated companies all at once? The best way to do this is to click the link below and compare online.
Independent agents have access to all of those companies and aren’t going to put one company in front of another. It’s their goal to obtain life insurance for you as cheaply as possible without sacrificing the guarantees life insurance is know for.
And to top it off, you can contact your agent if you have any questions. You don’t have to call the life insurance company direct – your agent is there to help you make beneficiary changes or increases/decreases to your coverage and most importantly – they’ll be there to help file the claim when that final day comes.
With all that said, we’d love to help you if you’re in the market to buy a life insurance policy right now.
